Isatou
Certified Tutor
I am a recent graduate of New York University with a Bachelors's degree in Elementary Special Education. As an educator devoted to helping students with different needs, I've worked as a behavioral therapist for children with behavioral challenges, ABA therapist in play-based settings, and student-taught in Integrated Co-teaching (ICT) Classrooms during my time at NYU. After getting to know my students, I work with them to meet their needs by differentiating my instruction and integrating each part of the ecosystem that contributes to their learning.
My philosophy of education puts students at the forefront of their learning. I believe that my job as an educator is to facilitate fruitful and quality learning, help students reach and further their potential, become critical thinkers, and develop their sense of self through learning.
Throughout my college years, I participated in programs and organizations centered around community development, addressing systematic cycles, mobilizing communities, civic engagement, and youth development primarily in underserved communities.
