Certified Tutor

I have an honors BA with a focus on studio art from Macaulay Honors College at Brooklyn College. After graduating, I took on a role as label manager at an independent record label in Brooklyn, traveled across the world to New Zealand to run a gallery and curate art shows, and eventually made it back to residing in New York City. I currently work in the music industry and am a practicing artist. Throughout my years at school, I tutored my peers and some younger students in English and writing subjects, and continued it on the side while I pursued my other career interests as well.

I am passionate about inspiring the students I tutor to take on their own interest in learning, reading, and writing in a way that suits and stimulates them. Each student has unique tastes, interests, and styles of learning, and this is a central concept to my teaching approach. I work with each student to find out their individual strengths and weaknesses, while helping them recognize what tools and resources they can use to help them on their academic journey.

I tutor in reading comprehension, writing, essay writing and editing, and SAT reading and writing as well as AP English subjects. I am a strong proponent for encouraging and inspiring students to seek out learning opportunities on their own outside of school, and to find enjoyment in their studies and academic pursuits.
