Hi there! My name is Joelle Santiago. I am an accomplished academic, artist, and ardent learner. I hold a B.A. from Barnard College of Columbia University, Cum Laude. I have extensive experience in advanced literary analysis, writing and critical social theory. My writing has been praised by field leaders as "immensely curious", and "brilliant".
I love learning from and laughing with the students that I work with. It continues to be a tremendous pleasure to witness and partake in the discovery-making of others. During the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic I launched (and taught within) a volunteer tutoring system to assist NYC school families struggling to adjust to the crisis. I also regularly teach dance to ages K-12. My teaching philosophy centers respect for her students, goal setting, and unites fun and rigor. I am excited to help K-undergraduate students develop their writing, reading, and critical thinking skills.
