Certified Tutor
I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a BA in History in 2019. I will graduate from the University of Michigan with a Master's Degree in Higher Education. I have years of experience, both formally and informally, working with students on a variety of subjects. As a college freshman, I served as a writing tutor for a freshman English course. I also worked for my school's writing center as a writing tutor. In my sophomore year, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for a freshman English course. In the first semester of grad school, I began working in the Michigan Athletic Department as an Academic Mentor to at-risk student athletes. I believe in a collaborative approach in regard to tutoring. I want to understand how you learn most effectively, and I want to cater my approach accordingly. I try to be intentional about providing praise for good work, and not taking a deficit approach when offering constructive criticism. I love working with students because I believe that education can be the catalyst to inspiring some tangible progress in society. I am most comfortable tutoring History, English, Political Science, and Social Studies. I can also help with reading, and general study habits/strategies.
