I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I am a graduate from the University of North Carolina - Wilmington. My major is Special Education with further certifications in middle school language arts and science. I have taught in several different settings and have been teaching something since 1983. I have taught self- contained students, resource students, general education classes, adult classes, and at a youth detention center. The majority of my experience has been with grades 6-8 and I have typically taught remedial reading.

I am passionate about students receiving instruction on the level in which they perform best and moving them forward. Skipping curriculum and skills is a part of the downfall of education today. Education is important and everyone can learn. Sometimes it takes finding their style and educate from that point. Everyone does not learn the same way
