I have a Master's degree in Second Language Studies from the University of Hawaii, where I also taught academic writing for international students in the English Language Institute. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and English from the University of Georgia. My additional teaching experience includes general English language, academic English, and English writing, for all levels, and from middle school to adult learners. I taught immigrant and refugee clients here in Atlanta with the International Rescue Committee and have also privately tutored online for five years. I believe in learning by doing, always teaching language in context and helping students develop lifelong self-study skills. When teaching writing, I focus on the process and helping students build confidence in expressing themselves as the become stronger writers.
