Certified Tutor

I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor's of Science in Math Education and a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics. After graduation, I moved to my hometown of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where I became a Pennsylvania certified math teacher for grades 7-12. I am now teaching middle school math in a Pittsburgh Charter School. Having taught all levels of middle school, I understand the foundations of math needed to progress. Although I am the facilitator of this session, I am also a student learning what each scholar needs to be successful. By building a positive learning environment, we create a learning community where scholars learn from their teacher, their peers and anyone they come in contact with in their daily activity. This creates a life-long learner. I am a strong believer that a positive attitude and positive "self-talk" creates the right mindset to learn new material. Together we are going to F.A.I.L. because it is only our First Attempt In Learning some of this material and that's okay! It's all about having a positive mindset and using that to continue learning. Aside from math, I am also passionate about technology and how it can be used to enhance the learning experience. Implementing technology can also demonstrate the practical application of math and create a more meaningful learning experience.
In my free time I like to hike with my dog, explore new technology, play games with my friends and listen to new music.
