Both in my professional life and personal time, I seek to support others in realizing their own strengths and access what they are capable of achieving. I am motivated by cultivating a culture of self-empowerment that is not provided from the start for many of us. Working as a professional writing tutor for four years at university-level gave me the opportunity to build and explore my skillset that now allows me to most effectively guide my peers in articulating their own ideas in addition to strategically achieve their goals.

My tutoring ethos is I am here to provide the necessary support and show the structures from which any person can express themselves through writing or any other medium of work; what may seem impersonal or wholly irrelevant to our lives is nonetheless connected to us in our relation to how we approach the work. This is a process of active collaboration and mutual respect for both the skills both the learner and tutor bring to the table.

I earned my MA in Women's and Gender Studies, my thesis entitled "Building Community with Students in Women's and Gender Studies Classes: Workshops for Cultivating Power-Awareness, Accountability, and Collectivity." I still use this work I've built volunteering with my local night school program as the Facilitation Team lead.
