Have you ever had one of those "aha!" moments after struggling to understand why something works?
I love that feeling! That moment when understanding flows. I have found that an informed passionate tutor can be a catalyst to help those moments happen easier and more often. I love learning and I love Math. Yes, Mathematics is perhaps one of the most beautiful fields for tutoring to transform frustrations into epiphanies. After starting a Chemical Engineering degree in college, I realized my passion was in helping others come to those crucial "aha" moments in their educational journeys. Now, I am pursuing a Mathematics Education degree at BYU and am loving the experience. I have tutored students ranging from grade school to adults in college. I have also worked with Jr. High and High School aged students in many ways including being an improvisational theatre coach and camp counselor. My tutoring style is self-discovery. I use questions to help students approach problems from differing angles until they come to a frame of understanding that works for them individually.
We then work together to bring that basic understanding to homework and test question application. Other fields I greatly enjoy learning include: cultural dancing, sports, and musical instruments.
