Certified Tutor

I am a rising sophomore at Wesleyan University, working towards a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics. Within these two majors, I intend to focus on International Politics as well as Development Economics. I have over five years of experience tutoring middle-schoolers in English, French, Math, and Social Studies. As a first-year at Wesleyan, I tutored 3 eighth-graders through a program that provides low-income students access to free tutoring. I believe that all students have the potential to learn and succeed, and it is the responsibility of a tutor to help students discover that potential. I foster a learning environment that harnesses curiosity and allows students to find joy in the learning process. I also emphasize individualized study plans and goal-setting as important steps towards long-term academic success. Among the students I tutor, I have seen a vast improvement in grades and study habits as well as a heightened motivation to participate in class discussions, ask questions, and achieve academic goals. In addition to tutoring, I am a freelance production assistant and I hold a leadership role at NY2X, which is a non-profit organization that engages high schoolers in community-based activism.
