Kimberly: Albany County tutor
Certified Tutor
I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2014 with a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Biology, Health, and Psychology. After receiving my alternative teaching certification, I started teaching in August 2015, and I have just entered my sixth year as a high school science teacher. In 2017, I obtained my Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in science. Throughout my graduate program, I strengthened my ability to create inquiry-based student centered lessons, and I use this skill to help students take accountability for their learning. I have taught various science courses over the last six years including Biology, Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Environmental Science, Earth and Space Science, and middle school science. Growing up, I hated science; it did not make any sense to me, and I found learning about the scientific method incredibly boring. When I got to college, I fell in love with the scientific world around me, and I wanted to share that love with students. I am passionate about helping students develop confidence and critical thinking skills, and using science to grow those skills.
