I am a rising junior at Rice University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Apart from my psychology courses, I invest time in taking creative writing classes and engaging in writing communities on and off campus.

Written communication has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and story-reading and storytelling have often been at the center of my attention. About four years ago, I took the leap to start composing my own creative works, and I've loved doing so ever since. I started out telling stories through poetry and have more recently taken interest in fiction writing, and it's been a joy to share those stories with others.

In the past few years I have written continuously, sharing my work online and at academic and community events. I have a passion for creating communities that encourage self-expression through writing and other artistic means, and outside of school I've hosted seasonal open mic nights in my community since 2018.

While I am most enthusiastic about encouraging others in their writing endeavors, I also enjoy teaching other subjects! I have experience tutoring elementary, middle, and high school math, including Algebra, Geometry, and Precalculus, and more recently I was blessed with the opportunity to lead a photography club at Las Americas, a local middle school for children of refugees. There, I was challenged to discuss goal-setting and project progression with a group of students who knew English as a second language.

I hope my students leave each session encouraged to learn more on their own. It's a pleasure to help others expand their skillsets and fulfill their potential, and I want to spark the joy of learning through every interaction!
