Having struggled with mathematics and physics at every level of my education, I can identify with psychological blocks many students have when approaching these subjects. From my experience teaching physics at Harvard, I have learned that a teacher's main job is to identify the student's current knowledge level and build progressively from that reference point up to the learning objective. My teaching style involves motivating the student with concrete examples and then working up to the level of abstraction pertinent to the assigned content.
