I am very passionate about helping the students because I was brought up with a particular education where I learned that you must give what ever you have learned from others. I believe strongly that if you don't give the knowledge you acquired means being stingy.
I have been tutoring since my early age. As a teenager and a member of a family of 8 kids I had to take care of my little brothers and sister as my oldest took care of me. I am used to helping my siblings with their homework. This is because our parents were not allowed and didn't have a chance to go to school because of the colonialism.
Also, graduating as a civil engineer from the university of Oran (Algeria), I went for a master by research in civil and structural engineering at the university of Cardiff-UK.
After going back home to Algeria, I spent 32 years teaching at the University of Tlemcen (Algeria) where I was born.
When coming to the states, two years and a half ago, I started tutoring in person as well as online.
I am able to tutor mathematics, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus and calculus in both English and French. Furthermore, I can tutor physics, AP physics and engineering.
As I did all my studies in Algeria in French, I am very comfortable with tutoring French language as well.
My mother tongue is Arabic which I also learned all along my three levels of primary, middle and high school , so I am ready and cosy to tutor Arabic language too.
As a teacher, my main objective is to create an environment wherein my students are given opportunities to become independent learners.
