Certified Tutor

I am a hardworking individual with a passion for teaching. I am a qualified teacher in mathematics and have over 5 years of experience in the classroom. My true passion is teaching and I have missed that since being a homemaker the last 3 years to take care of my 3 children.

I have extensive teaching experience in a variety of math courses. I have taught mainly Algebra 1, Geometry, and AP Statistics, but have also tutored middle school math, college statistics, college algebra, and finite mathematics. I have helped students of all mathematical abilities from the strong to the very weak. I can adapt my teaching/tutoring to fit the ability of the student so they can get the most out of this experience.

I have taught/tutored many ages. I am a certified mathematics teacher. My license is for secondary education which means ages 10-21. I have been tutoring in Varsity Tutors for over a year covering high school topics of Algebra, Geometry, and AP Statistics and also working with college students taking College Algebra, Statistics and Finite. I have also tutored some adults while I was in college working in the math resource center. I have come to understand that everyone learns differently and therefore now can adapt to the students and make sure they can receive the material in a meaningful way for them. I have also spent much time checking for understanding with students in a variety of ways. This way I know if they are comprehending the material or if I need to revisit the material and present it in another way.
