My aim is to convince my students to become life-long learners, by focussing on the understanding and application of concepts, rather than promote memorization.
After graduate school, I returned to my native country, Belize, in 2000 to be part of the newly established University of Belize (UB), until 2019. In those 19 years, I had the opportunity to serve as Assistant Professor, Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology, and Interim Provost. I was an Assistant Professor of Physics, Mathematics and Business Mathematics.
My doctoral studies at University of South Carolina and research work at Syracuse University facilitated my scholastic exposure beyond my expectations. I had the privilege of working at Brookhaven National Laboratory and the Nuclear Physics Institute in France. The graduate school experience cultivated in me a sense of innovative ambition. I am also a proud graduate of South Carolina State University, where I completed my baccalaureate degree in Physics and Mathematics.
Additionally, I served as Chair of the Board of the Statistical Institute of Belize, SIB, for nine years. Recent collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, facilitated the beginning of a Nuclear Physics Lab at UB, and the drafting of legislation, with the Government of Belize, related to radiation safety and security.
My family and I recently migrated from Belize.
