Certified Tutor

I am a Philadelphia-based tutor with 10+ years' experience working one-on-one with all ages. My main focus is writing, literacy and speaking skills. I currently work at a high school, mostly on writing and study skills/presentation skills. I have also worked with many middle schoolers and college students on academic and personal writing.

I have a master's degree in environmental science/writing from University of Montana. I also have been trained in college application essays in the last few years, and it's something I'm very passionate about, helping teens get "their story" on paper.

My teaching style is rooted in my work as a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa after college, where I learned how to really listen, find common ground, and support the leadership of others.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking my dog, spending time with family, listening to music, cooking and meeting up with friends. I love Philly but I also enjoy getting out of town when I can, especially to the shore.
