Certified Tutor

I went to Brooklyn Friends School for elementary, middle school and high school. I got my BA at Mount Holyoke College and my MBA at Northwestern's Kellogg School. I also have a Master of Science from Oregon State University.

My primary work with students is as a mentor, at Oregon State University I designed a program for the undergraduates to prepare them for job interviews. The program consisted of resume clinics, mock interviews and networking training. Currently, I am a mentor in the Year Up program which helps under resourced people between 18 and 24 get the certifications they need to get good jobs. My favorite subjects to tutor are reading, SAT Verbal and GMAT Verbal prep as well as writing because I intuitively understand the questions and my middle school teachers gave me a rigorous grounding in grammar.

I believe that good tutoring is based on a clear understanding of the student's objectives, current knowledge and learning style. The rapport between the tutor and student builds success based on those three elements.

Outside of academia I love to ski, take care of my son's goldendoodle and do anything associated with plants including volunteering at the Urban Farm in my neighborhood.
