Certified Tutor
My love for tutoring mathematics began in high school, in which I tutored elementary school mathematics at Nancy Elementary for four years. While obtaining my bachelor's degrees at Berea College, I became a teaching assistant for Developmental Mathematics, Probability, and Calculus 2. Upon graduating from Berea College with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Secondary Education, I began my career as a teacher at Lincoln County High School. After two years of teaching, I realized I missed that one-on-one educational experience of being able to design instruction specifically for an individual's unique needs and learning style. From there I have taken my talents to various online tutoring platforms for the past three years, perfecting my methods in personalized instruction. I am distinguished in teaching/tutoring K-12 mathematics and entry level college mathematics up to and including Calculus 1. My favorite subjects to teach/tutor are Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, as they are essential building blocks for higher mathematics. My teaching philosophy is to provide every student with an equitable opportunity at obtaining a quality education that highlights the interconnectedness of the world and each student's link to it. This philosophy inspires me to always teach for, with, and about each student's learning style and diversities to inspire a connection to mathematics that is not often obtained in a traditional classroom.
