Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the University of Mary Washington where I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and Linguistics. As a CELTA certified English teacher, I have traveled around the world teaching learners of all ages, from adult ESL and literacy learners coming to the US with a refugee/asylee status, to high school students looking to expand their horizons by studying in university at home and abroad, and even four-year-olds learning how to manage their emotions in a foreign language. As a lover of learning, I try to impart in my students that same enthusiasm and curiosity about the world and material we see together. My favorite moments with my students are when they can use classroom concepts to engage with the world around them and communicate themselves more fully. One of the benefits of my job is that I also get to learn from my students' perspectives and expertise! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, cooking - and of course eating!
