I enjoy helping people learn my native language, that is why I have chosen to be a Spanish tutor. I am passionate about education. Throughout the years, teaching has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I received my Bachelor's degree in Family Science from Brigham Young University and I focused my studies in Early Childhood Education. My drive to teach has taken me to job opportunities where I have learned valuable skills. I have worked as a bilingual tutor and as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher where I created and implemented weekly engaging lesson plans and activities for English language learners. As a teacher, I believe in combining different strategies and materials according to the needs of each student. Some classes are better taught by conversation, others work best with visuals, charts or even games and music. In each class, I try to engage students in a variety of ways making sure I set specific goals with them. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family, reading with my girls, cooking, singing and dancing. I like to participate in Mexican folklore dancing and promote this beautiful part of my culture to the world. I also volunteer as a Spanish music chorister and I direct a children's choir every Sunday.
