I recently gained entry at UT Southwestern Medical school, one of the top 25 med schools in the nation. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Psychology when I was 18, and obtained a Master's in Biomedical science at the same university, finishing just after turning 20. I took the MCAT in the spring of 2018 and obtained a score in the 99th percentile. Because of this, I would like to pass on my study strategies to other students, as well as provide the help and motivation needed to succeed academically.
I also consider myself to be very adept at test preparation and the application process for schools as whole. I have tutored for the MCAT/GRE/ACT/SAT. When I took the GRE, I had 2 weeks to prepare and I scored a 168 in quantitative and 162 in verbal. I'm familiar with a variety of materials from test prep companies and am also employed as an MCAT course instructor for one of the big test prep companies.
Due to my experiences in applying to various schools, as well as my experiences tutoring and assisting others in this area, I am also well versed in the production of effective application essays.
I began tutoring 4 years ago, across a wide range of subjects and ages. I have also taught classes in Microbiology at my university, and understand the importance of effective mentoring in student success.
I am fully bilingual with both English and Spanish.
I also have special writing equipment to draw out problems and equations on the online whiteboard.
