Having studied abroad in Alicante, Spain, and receiving my Bachelor's of Arts as a dual major in Spanish and Secondary Education, I feel confident in my abilities to help increase understanding of language acquisition and cultural knowledge. Additionally, I have observed and student taught in Spanish classrooms in an Elementary, Middle, and High School, so I am confident in my abilies to help students of any age and ability group achieve success. My teaching style is very similar to call and response where first I will walk the student through questions or problems, and when he or she feels confident, I will let him or her have the opportunity to put themselves to the work and show me their newfound understandings and abilities. If a student needs more help or is still struggling, I will continue to work through the problems until full confidence is achieved. From studying foreign languages for so long, I know and have felt the same stress and struggles with language acquisition, so my goal is to allow my tutees to find comfortability and confidence in themselves and their language skills.
