Over the course of my journey through life I've learned many lessons. Some I've sought out, some I've learned the hard way, and some I didn't even know I was learning at the time. In every one of those instances I wouldn't have learned a thing if I wasn't open to examining all possibilities - even those that didn't agree with my preconceived notions.

Listening, being respectful of others, and treating others as I wish to be treated myself are the tools that have served me the best during my life. I learned these lessons just as you would an academic subject - through trial and error, research, and internal realization.

Don't think of learning as work - think of it as discovering what you enjoy and what you don't enjoy so much. Finding joy in life is more of a discovery than a known path. Learning is an important tool in helping you find your way to discovering what you enjoy.
