I first started tutoring back when I was in high school, simply helping friends who needed help with their history classes. One day my friend's parents told me how much they appreciated me taking the time to make their son a better student. From that moment on I knew I wanted to teach history.
I studied my undergraduate degree at Missouri State University. I got my degree in History and Secondary Education. While there I also worked as a tutor at the library center. Also as part of my education I performed multiple practicum and student teaching experiences in the Springfield Public School District, I taught a mix of middle and high school history classes.
After graduation I substitute taught for four years in the St. Louis area. I got the opportunity to teach two long term assignments as a High School US History teacher. While working I also went back to school for my Masters degree. I got my MA in History in 2016 from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Currently I am in the Dallas area teaching US History at Eastfield College. In my free time I enjoy reading about history, doing any kind of outdoor activity (mainly Ultimate Frisbee), and if time allows it playing computer games.
