Certified Tutor
I am a recent PhD graduate from the University of Pennsylvania in neuroscience and currently living in Louisville. I have an undergraduate degree in bioengineering, also from Penn. I have a particular passion for science and learning, and love to teach/mentor. I have taught/tutored students from high school through graduate school in various topics in math, biology, neuroscience, psychology, statistics, and MATLAB. I particularly enjoy tutoring biology and statistics because these are the two subjects I have the most experience with. I also particularly enjoying teaching the reasoning behind why statistics are so useful. I am available for online or in-person tutoring sessions. I will make you (or your child) a priority in my tutoring work and you will always receive 100% of my effort and available resources to help you achieve your goals. In my tutoring sessions, I focus heavily on deep understanding of the material: an understanding of the WHY behind the material, not simply a rote memorization of the key concepts. This approach is best suited for long-term retention and better test scores/grades. Outside of teaching, I'm a huge fan of podcasts (news, comedy, life stories, etc.), hip-hop music, and Philadelphia sports (Go EAGLES!).
