Certified Tutor
I attended Cornell as an undergraduate, where I received an undergraduate degree in applied physics. I also started my interest in mathematics at that time. After graduation I spent time travelling around the US and Asia, where I had the great experience in Taipei, Taiwan of tutoring students in conversational English for a few years. Working with foreign students really helped hone my communication skills.
Upon my return to the US, I went back to school where I achieved two Masters degrees in Mathematics, and started teaching university classes in Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics. For the past 6 years, I have been tutoring mathematics online, and I have been really enjoying the challenge. Its fun working closely with individual students, and helping them through their struggles with math. The positive feedback I get on a daily basis is very rewarding indeed.
I tutor all levels of algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and single variable calculus, along with introductory statistics. Besides the steps required to solve a problem, I attempt to impart a deeper understanding of the concepts underlying it, so that the student will gain confidence the next time they encounter something similar. Outside of my teaching duties, I like to travel on my breaks, and exercise daily.
