After nearly fifty years as a teacher at all levels, nearly all subjects, and all ages, I enjoy seeing the light go on when someone learns something new. I have worked extensively with young students on phonics, reading fluency and comprehension. I have worked with many children and adults with reading, writing, literature, comprehension, learning the English Language, I taught over thirty years with people of all ages who have special needs as a Life Skills teacher, Resource Teacher. I have worked with students at the middle school level who were learning conversational English, having come here as refugees. I have a background in theatre/drama, speech coaching, and I am a vocal soloist singing both classical and modern music. It helps to enjoy reading, and that comes when you learn how to read well and comprehend what you read.
