I have a bachelor of science in Chemical Engineering from Oregon State University and a bachelor of arts in Education from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. After completing my education degree, I taught Chemistry in New Jersey before moving back to Oregon. This past year I taught middle school science. I also am a substitute teacher focusing on middle school and high school assignments. I have tutored students in Chemistry and Physics for several years along with teaching short introduction courses for chemistry, the periodic table, and general science. I have a strong mathematical background and excel at problem solving strategies. I believe in meeting students where they are, and building up their confidence along with the skills they are learning. While I have experience teaching a variety of scince subjects, my favorite is Chemistry especially the problem solving. I love the aha moment students get when they finally grasp stoichiometry. In my spare time, I like gardening, playing D&D with friends, and spending time with my family especially trips to the aquarium with my kiddo.
