I am a current student at Northwestern University studying Economics and Middle East/North African Studies. Teaching is in my family background, and I believe teachers are the most important individuals in the world! From my academic experience I have learned that a passionate teacher who genuinely cares about the growth of their students will succeed in passing on their knowledge to them, however difficult or complex it may seem. My main tutoring experiences have been in ACT prep, Arabic, and English as a second language to refugees abroad. Other exposure to tutoring came from helping out students in a variety of math subjects ranging from Algebra I to pre-calculus, along with writing/editing essays. My teaching philosophy is based on determining the students strengths and weaknesses, developing a relationship between the student and the material that allows them to build their confidence over time and accomplish their academic goals. No two students are the same, and it is important for me to personalize my tutoring style while maintaining an environment with each that is focused, enlightening, and enjoyable. Outside of the classroom I can be found at the gym, playing basketball/soccer, reading a book, or listening to music, most likely singing along.
