Hello! I want to start off by saying that I am very excited to be a Varsity Tutor! I can't wait to help you improve your Spanish and achieve your language goals.

I am a recent graduate from The University of Kansas and I received my degree in Education with a focus in foreign language. I have been interested in the teaching profession since I was a little girl and my experience at KU has given me the opportunity to make my dream come true. Spanish has always been a big part of my life due to the fact that I am half mexican. I absolutely love my culture and this is one of the reasons I want to help others learn the language. I also want to provide others with the knowledge to be able to use the language in a real world setting. I have spoken with so many people that have said, "I took two years of Spanish in high school and I don't remember anything." This is something I want to change. I want my students to be immersed in the language/culture so that they feel comfortable with the language and use it. Using authentic texts and materials that are meaningful to each individual I work with are just a few ways I plan to be an effective tutor.
