When I first began tutoring other students during my undergraduate career at Ohio State University, it was just a means for me to help out my classmates and ensure that I had good understanding of the material. After completing my Bachelors in Biology at OSU and then Master's of Science in Physiology at Georgetown University, I tackled the MCAT by applying the same skills that I had used to help others succeed. Now, I'm in a position to impart these skills and habits to students that are in the same position I was.
My methods are centered on content review, reinforcing fundamentals, test-taking strategies, and forming good study habits. It is my objective to tailor a plan suited to each student's strengths to help them achieve their goals, whatever they may be. Although my area of expertise is in biology and physiology, I was a classics minor in undergrad and have a special interest in history and classical society, including Latin language.
ACT and SAT English/reading are particular strengths of mine, and I draw on these in helping students gain solid command of critical reading and language comprehension skills.
Personal hobbies include reading, college football, soccer, and cooking.
