I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

In todays world of automation many jobs will be obsolete. The only jobs that will be assured is the job of creative problem solvers. Solving math and physics problems prepares people for solving other problems encountered in the real world. It does not matter if you are solving an equation or solving a complex engineering problem or creating a painting. The same process is used in any problem. First define the problem then define the steps to get to the solution. As in all things the more you practice the better you get at it and the more you can do.
I worked in the field of Distance Education for 30 years. I made videos of UT Arlington professors teaching graduate engineering classes that were made available to working engineers. I started as a part time camera operator and retired as the director of the department. As I worked I attended classes and achieved a Masters in Electrical Engineering. I became a teacher in the university outreach program that got young people interested in math and science.
Since I retired I spent time with my 10 year old son and 12 year old daughter. My son is now a senior in high school. My daughter is attending a university and majoring in Electrical Engineering on a full ride scholarship. I have been working as a contractor at Siemens. I updated mail sorting equipment and help design package moving equipment. I volunteer at the elementary, middle and high school working as a librarian, science demonstrations, and math tutor. Most recently I built a telescope and projected the solar eclipse for the high school students and teachers.
I have many hobbies including astronomy, classic car repair, cooking, drawing, electronics, ham radio, photography, primitive camping, and sculpture. I love to teach. I want to touch and improve as many lives as I can. So far through my work at UT Arlington I have helped over a thousand people get and advanced engineering degree. Also, through that program I gave over 400 students their first part time jobs. Anybody that I help through the Varsity Tutor program is icing on the cake.
