Hi There!
My name is Katie, and I am a rising sophomore at UCLA studying Political Science. I first discovered my love of tutoring and teaching through my involvement in the National and Math Honor Societies at my high school where I was able to tutor high school students in various topics. I continue to help my high school-aged sister with her coursework while I am at college. While teaching I am able to share my own excitement for learning and make an impact on the student's life. I find it incredibly rewarding to help a student improve in a subject and enjoy the class more.
In particular, I thoroughly enjoy editing papers and teaching someone how to become a better writer. I write for a publication on my college's campus and have always loved to write. Many of my friends at college ask me to review and edit their papers, even going so far as trading meal swipes for my critiques on their papers.
Outside of tutoring and schoolwork, I spent much of my life in the dance studio where, for fifteen years, I trained in ballet. I also love to play piano and listen to music. I am an avid traveller and love to explore whether it be my home city of DC or my new home in LA.
