Certified Tutor

I am a first grade teacher with a passion for helping students to succeed, especially in reading! I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Weber State University in 2012. Since then, I have been teaching first grade at a local school that provides me with plenty of challenges in reading instruction due to the population I serve. I am currently in my 6th year of teaching. My experience in education means I am ready for anything you can throw my way! Although I am enjoy tutoring various subjects, I have a passion for those related to reading.

I am currently working on a reading endorsement, provided by my district, through Utah State University. This will enable me to earn a master's degree in reading instruction. This program has enabled me to study and implement various research-based strategies for teaching reading and has made me a more effective teacher. This also makes me an extremely effective tutor!

In my free time I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors and with my family, and attending professional development opportunities to further develop my skills as an educator.
