I was born in Pyeongtaek, South Korea on January 14th, 1996. In 2008, I immigrated to the United States. I graduated from Grand Sawyer Middle School and Durango High School. I am now attending University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a biology major and math minor student in the UNLV Honors College.

I am very passionate about teaching for many reasons. First of all, I am very fond of meeting new people. Meeting new people and getting to know them gives me a sense of happiness that is hard to find anywhere else. Also, I believe that the very act of delivering knowledge to another person is very meaningful and needed in this society.

As a student, math was always one of my strongest suits in school. I enjoyed the process of understanding the mathematical concepts and applying them to solve problems. Because I enjoy learning math, I became pretty good at it. Whenever a classmate asked me a math question, I always gladly answered the question and explained the steps behind the answer. I felt very accomplished every time I saw my classmate with an epiphany of the concept involved in a math problem. Consequently, I look forward to tutoring students in math because math is a subject I really enjoy learning and excel at.

I focus on getting students to truly understand the fundamental ideas of math. Rather than making students simply memorize formulas and regurgitate them on paper, I want to see students critically think and solve math problems. I aim to achieve the balance between the efficient rate of covering materials and understanding the materials.

Outside of academia, I personally like listening to music as well as socializing with my friends. I am also quite adventurous, so I am willing to try out new hobbies. For example, I started to enjoy occasionally playing basketball with my friends.
