Be patient and understand the one you are teaching.

Guide them on the right path.

Always be attentive and change up teaching styles regularly to keep interest of the student.

Explore different ways to present the concept or skill.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Figure out their interests and understand their learning style.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Apply to real-world concepts.
What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?
Reiteration, go over content in portions, and have the student tell me their understanding.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
Never put a student down. Build upon prior knowledge.
How do you evaluate a student's needs?
Assess what they know and don't know and adjust to their learning style.
How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?
Ask how other subjects are learned and what is easiest for them.

Videos, work books, games, slideshows, websites, interactive websites, and textbooks.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
Ask what is not being understood and help out by building upon what they already know.
