Quizzes, homework, and practice tests.

Encouraging shortcuts if the student is recording substantial progress and is quick at following; slowing down and reloading if the student struggles.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
A laptop, textbook, notes, and websites.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Enhancing his good solving and comprehension habits, allowing the student to involve themselves in the solving of problems, and encouraging double checking and correcting mistakes.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Always pointing to the next topic as a stepping stone to the final result of learning that math is not that hard when you connect the dots.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Pause, rewind, determine where the difficulty starts, and reload, if possible, with a different approach.
