What is your teaching philosophy?

If the concepts are understood, there is no problem too difficult.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Assess where the student needs help, based off of conceptual questions.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Find out their learning style and then show them resources based off this.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

See where the real problem lies. Many times they are taught to memorize and not how to apply concepts

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

Help them Identify what information is important.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

Allow the student time to think and try to solve a problem. I only step in when they are not understanding how to proceed.
