What is your teaching philosophy?
I discuss a lot with my tutee in order to find the best way for us to work efficiently and focus on what needs to be done.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I will have a discussion with the student about his studying habits and how we can improve them.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I will show the student a few methods of learning so that she/he can choose the most appropriate to her/his profile.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I will begin the sessions with short tests that will enable the student to see his/her improvement.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I will try to understand the student's way of thinking about the concept. Then I will start from the beginning using simple examples.
