My educational background is very diverse. Growing up, my sister and I were both homeschooled by my mom because our family travelled frequently between Boston and Miami due to my dad's job. I was homeschooled up until 8th grade, when I began attending Ransom Everglades middle school and subsequently Ransom Everglades high school. I graduated from Northwestern University in 2019 with a BA in Biological Sciences and a concentration in Genetics and Genomics. I currently do research in an infectious disease laboratory at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
I tutor subjects in diverse areas, from Molecular Biology and Middle School Math to Spanish and ACT Test Prep. I have a lot of experience teaching students of different ages and levels. In high school, I worked with a program called Breakthrough Miami for two years where I taught extracurricular classes to middle school students. In college, I worked with Varsity Tutors to tutor middle school and high school level standardized test prep. Likewise, at Northwestern, I was a TA for a biology lab sequence where I helped teach biology to younger college students. Working in these different experiences showed me how rewarding it is to help students understand material and become more successful in their educational paths.
Having been both homeschooled and a student at school, I have a unique philosophy on education. I believe that learning material at your own pace skimming over the information you know well and spending more time on what you find difficult is crucial. I also think that truly understanding the material on a deeper level is more important and beneficial than memorizing shortcuts to get to the answer. I am very patient and will work alongside the student toward reaching that key moment when the material finally clicks and everything makes sense.
Outside of my research job, I was a student-athlete for five years on the crew team in high school and college, and I currently volunteer for the Head of the Charles Regatta. I have played piano for over 15 years and love music and frequently attend concerts. I am also a member of my sorority's Intercollegiate Alumnae Association. I love hanging out with my friends, listening to podcasts, and traveling!

Outside of academia, I am on the club rowing team at Northwestern and have rowed for four years. I have played piano for 13 years and adore music. This summer, I have been interning with two different music production/entertainment companies, writing articles on up-and-coming DJs and artists, tuning vocals, and doing PR work. At Northwestern, I am also involved in gender equality groups and my sorority.
