Education is one of the most important gifts that anyone can provide you with, it is something that plays a very important role in your future. Throughout journey of your education there will be issues that arise and it is important to ask for help when you have trouble. When I was in high school, I did not like asking for help, I felt that I need to learn things on my own; however, this only made it harder for me. When I understood that asking for help was normal, it helped me open up to teachers and work with them to solve any issues or confusions that I had. This way I knew what to do and I wasn't falling behind in class. I wanted to take this experience that I had and help other students that may have issues in school to teach them that asking for help is a good thing. Other than tutoring, I volunteer, play tennis, watch tv, and do some summer classes. I especially enjoy science shows, and reading about tech too, it's one of my favorite pass times. I love teaching because it helps me grow too, knowing that I can explain a concept to someone else and have them understand it lets me know I, myself, truly understand the subject.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Practice makes perfect, however you also need to talk things out. Asking questions and asking for help not only helps you, but also helps people understand what your needs are.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
We will lay down some goals that you have for the future. We can discuss what topics you struggle with, and what ways in which you learn best. We can also take a little time to get to know each other, about your likes and interests. Lastly, we can plan out what you want to go ahead and get started with in the next session.
