Shachi
Certified Tutor
I am a current undergraduate student who has always had a passion for tutoring. I have garnered over 250 hours of tutoring experience of all kinds over a period of many years. From helping elementary aged children gain confidence in their academic abilities to rigorous test preparation, I have a variety of experience with all ages and levels of students. I have always had a passion for sharing my knowledge and that is what I hope to do as a tutor.
I am an experienced test preparation tutor. I have run my own rigorous test preparation classes and have proven methods to improve scores. Furthermore, I have experience tutoring high school students in Math, Science and English. I have completed Multivariable Calculus at the college level and several college level biology (currently majoring in) and chemistry courses and have taken writing intensive college literature courses. I have been tutoring geometry-calculus through my high school years and have experience in each subject in order to provide the best assistance. The same goes for my science and English tutoring capabilities.
I truly enjoy the tutoring process and the ability to help students find their own potential in any subject of academia. I hope to be a good fit for any tutee and am willing to put the hours and effort in order to get improved results. I am willing to put in the effort necessary to help a student understand material and am very enthusiastic about teaching! Please contact me for more information on how I can help you, as a student, attain your goals.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is just to use learning as a tool for finding passions. This allows students to truly enjoy the learning process and helps them achieve both academic and non-academic goals.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
The first session usually involves 10 minutes of introductions and learning about student difficulties and what they hope to achieve out of the tutoring session. This allows me to help the student in the best way possible.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By giving the tools necessary to improve study habits as well as techniques to understand subject material better, I hope to push students to become independent learners.
