I have over 14 years experience tutoring students in a variety of subjects. I use humor and empathy to make my tutoring accessible to those who were formerly struggling with their tests or studies. Like a skilled trade, a musical instrument, or a sport, mastering a subject requires lots of practice, but time spent practicing can be up to 3 times more effective if done with a coach who can demonstrate techniques.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Knowledge is awesome and the truth is fascinating. The teachers who have impacted me most have simply revealed this fact to me. The best teachers in my experience are not so much those whose credentials are impressive or whose research is novel, but those who have a deep passion for their subject that pours forth in a contagious love of knowledge.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I believe in diving straight in. During the first session we take a look at any previous work to get a good glimpse of where the student is struggling. Then, we will take a look at what assignments are due immediately, and we will begin with those. As we work through these assignments we will review previous concepts, and make sure the student is completely up to speed.
