Certified Tutor

I am Dora , a Spanish native speaker from Colombia. I was always fascinated by foreign cultures, music, and languages. I came to the States in 1999 to pursue my MA in Spanish at the University of Rhode Island. I enjoyed teaching undergraduate students learning Spanish 1-4 while I was working on my MA.
This experience gave me the opportunity to know first hand of how the American education system worked. Working with colleagues from all over the world at URI was great. After I obtained my MA in Spanish in 2003. I have taught Spanish for 15 years: at the High school level, I have taught IB Spanish 3-5, Spanish AP Language, and Dual Enrollment. At the college level, I have taught all level of Spanish, from level 1 to Conversational/Reading and Writing, and Spanish for Native Speakers. I currently hold a Teaching Certificate in Spanish k-12. I enjoy helping people understand the Spanish language as well as the culture behind it.
