I recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh where I was a math tutor and a teaching assistant for college algebra. I love being friends with my students and maintaining a comfortable environment where I can show them how to grapple with challenging concepts and come out on top. I embrace the belief that the highest priority in effective teaching is to be your student's friend. Showing them that you are on their side is the first step into making the time spent together both productive and enjoyable. Math is frustrating for all of us when we can't yet grasp the concepts, but it is likewise enjoyable for all of when we do finally get ahold of how to understand and complete problems correctly. I love showing students the joy that comes from finally getting it right.
