Wade-Ann: Carol Stream tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a second semester senior at the University of Miami, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Exceptional Student Education with a minor in English Literature. My course of study also provides me with teaching endorsements in ESOL and Reading. While pursuing my degree, I have primarily completed my field experiences in Elementary schools with grades K-5. Although Elementary schools have been my principal focus, I have also worked with high school students. These experiences comprise of my working with students one-on-one, in small groups, and teaching full lesson plans to the whole group. This past summer I had the opportunity to travel to South Africa and teach science to seventh graders. I have tutored students in various subjects, but reading and math (at any level) have always been my passions. As an educator, I understand the importance of learning and the gravity of standardized tests and the weight that it places on students. My aim has always been and will always be to make students feel comfortable and confident. My students know that I have a full belief in them and that having me as a tutor makes us a team. In my spare time I enjoy appreciating the creativity of others be it reading, watching movies, or listening to music or indulging in creativity of my own.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I fully believe that any student can succeed if they have support that meets their needs. I try to be as supportive as possible - giving students stepping stones toward their achievement.
