A teacher is a role model that cultivates in young people, open minds, the knowledge and ability to look at the world critically, and the belief in ones capacity to make positive contributions to society. Reflecting on my educational experiences, I highly appreciate the efforts of my teachers who help me gain knowledge and skills that will be used by me for whole life.

I have completed my Bachelors in Electronics Engineering and Masters in Electrical Engineering. The courses I have taken varied from mathematics, physics, basic engineering concepts in electrical, electronics and mechanical engineering to graduate level courses in signals and systems, electromagnetics and satellite & RADAR communications. I have enjoyed learning this knowledge and being a STEM student.

I have worked as a teaching assistant in graduate school helping undergraduate students with their homework and lab work. Also I have helped many of my friends with their mathematics problems or quantitative reasoning problems. Currently I am working as an Electrical Engineer working on designing some cool products and technology for video, light and sounds. I apply my skills and knowledge in designing circuit boards and testing them.

My experience working in varied environments has enabled me to develop a range of practical skills. I am able to manage challenging behavior effectively, conduct activities safely and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds. Thus, given a chance I feel confident I will be able to guide students in a right direction and help them gain knowledge.

What is your teaching philosophy?

I encourage learning by creating a relaxed environment for students, stimulating conversation about concepts associated, and organizing material in a way that makes it easiest to understand. I treat subject matter as interconnected and make it easy enough for them so that they enjoy it like me and don't run away from it. Finally, I believe that respect for my students is one of the most important things I can show - not only to encourage their openness to the material I am helping them with, but also to inspire them to respect each other and all other humans.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In a first session, I will try to learn about the student and their knowledge about the subject. This will help me understand them better and organize the material in a way to make it an easier job for them to enjoy the learning process.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I can help a student become an independent learner by making sure he knows the initial concept and then providing activities for the student to practice on his own, and also helping him with any difficulties during the process.

Practice makes the man perfect.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I will try to learn where he is having difficulty and would try to find an easier way to help him learn that concept.
