My favorite subject to teach is anything with elementary school children. With older children, I enjoy many subjects such as reading, writing, social studies, and science. My teaching philosophy focuses on breaking things down so that they are simple and easy to understand, so that my students can be as successful as possible.
Some of my interests outside of the academic world includes going to museums, movies, cooking, and being outdoors! I love being outside in the fall because the colors around us are so beautiful and peaceful.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy focuses on breaking things down so that they are simple and easy to understand so that my students can be as successful as possible.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would break down that skill or concept to smaller concepts, and work our way up to understanding the entire skill or concept.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Building rapport and trust with the student is important. Spend a few minutes getting to know the student and what some of their interests include.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
Ask them what they don't like about the subject and talk about how we can make it more exciting. By helping them better understand the subject, they become more confident, and will become more engaged and excited.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
Positive reinforcement and guidance!
