Certified Tutor
Learning can be fun and rewarding, and I would love to help students find meaning in their school work! I just graduated with my doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and love working directly with students. All students have the ability to succeed with good instruction and multiple learning touches. My teaching expertise includes grammar/editing, elementary-algebra mathematics, history, writing composition (APA, MLA, and Chicago Turabian), and reading.
When I am not working on research, I enjoy playing soccer, art, piano, adventure movies, running races, hanging out with my family and friends, and volunteer work in my community.
I hope to leave this world a better place through hands-on work and scholarly research. Dream BIG!

What is your teaching philosophy?
Melissa Brevetti Teaching Philosophy
All students should reach their highest potential. That is a difficult task to achieve, but it is truly possible when teachers are able to know and care for their students. Learning is a continual and social process. Furthermore, deep learning requires personal meaning. Successful teachers are able to motivate students in ways that they never imagined because of trust and passion. These teachers know how to communicate, be prepared, and inspire curiosity. Therefore, my teaching philosophy embraces the ideas that students are given tools for success and seek ways to follow their dreams.
